At FIVERDE 2025, Antoine CADI, President of Restore Biodiversity Together, and Juan Carlos Gonzalez Aybar, President of FRONTERRA, highlighted the decisive progress made by the Peruvian authorities in facilitating the nationwide rollout of a transparent and robust financing framework for biodiversity conservation and restoration projects via the MERESE registry (Ecosystem Services Compensation Mechanism) instruments. This event also provided an opportunity to present Restore Biodiversity Together as a solution for businesses and financial institutions and, thanks to collaboration with Peru’s Ministry of the Environment, the National Service of Natural Areas Protected by the State (Servicio Nacional de Áreas Naturales Protegidas por el Estado or SerNANP) and FRONTERRA, the Sierra del Divisor park project, which is financed through biodiversity credit mechanisms developed by the European Commission. We extend our gratitude to the organisers and the numerous participants, who underscored Peru’s maturity in addressing these critical issues. RESTORE – Biodiversity, Together was at FIVERDE 2025
