How and why should we preserve soil biodiversity? How and why should we preserve soil biodiversity? The role, particularly the physical role, of organic matter… These were some of the topics discussed this morning by Marc-André SELOSSE at a breakfast event organized by Genesis, with the presence of numerous companies concerned about the impacts of climate change and soil degradation. It was also an opportunity to hear the concrete testimony of Jérôme Perez, Head of Sustainability at Nestlé Nespresso SA. A long-term effort to encourage the shift of farmers towards regenerative agriculture, with three main priorities: trees, soil, and technical practices. Discussions that open up perspectives both in terms of measurement to track progress towards biodiversity restoration goals through Genesis solutions, and in terms of formalizing and activating biodiversity additionality achieved through biodiversity certificates via RESTORE – biodiversity, together.
