Letter of intent signed during COP16 alongside European and Peruvian institutions

RESTORE is proud to have announced its intention to invest in the conservation and restoration of biodiversity in the Parque Nacional Sierra del Divisor (PNSD) at a side-event attended by Sylvain Goupille, co-founder of RESTORE, together with Humberto Delgado-Rosa, Director of Natural Heritage at the European Commission’s DG Environment, Raquel H. Soto Torres, Peru’s Minister for Strategic Development of Natural Resources, José Carlos Nieto Navarrete, Head of the State’s National Service for Natural and Protected Areas (SERNANP), and Juan Carlos Gonzalez Aybar, CEO and Founder of Fronterra.

The announcement took the form of the signing of a letter of intent, affirming RESOTRE’s ambition to promote the implementation of ecosystem services to maintain biodiversity as part of the Peruvian mechanism for payment for ecosystem services (MERESE), for which the Parque Nacional Sierra del Divisor project will be promoted, a project that will seek to cover the financial and conservation deficits of biodiversity in protected natural areas threatened by the latter.

RESTORE is delighted to have this opportunity to participate in a project that combines a positive impact on biodiversity with financial innovation.
