Our partner FRONTERRA has begun installing demonstration modules for deforestation-free cocoa cultivation in the communities of the APCU (Asociación de Pueblos Cinco Unidos) and in the village of Monte Sinaí, both located in the area of interest of the Sierra del Divisor National Park. During this first phase, pilot nurseries are being set up, marking the start of sustainable economic activities under the MERESE program for biodiversity conservation, which our partner FRONTERRA is implementing jointly with the Servicio Nacional de Áreas Naturales Protegidas por el Estado (Sernanp). These activities aim to improve the quality of life of populations linked to protected natural areas by giving them access to income that will not have a negative impact on local biodiversity. This is a key factor in achieving tangible results in biodiversity conservation and climate action. RESTORE promotes rural development in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest
