SIA 2025, Restore: A Solution to Support Farmers in Transition

SIA 2025, Restore: A Solution at the Service of Farmers in Transition

On the occasion of the Agricultural Show, the Institute for Sustainable Finance (IFD) organized a roundtable on the theme: “Financing the Agricultural Transition: Barriers and Levers.” The discussion was moderated by Vincent Burnand from IFD and featured participants including Lucie Rogissard from I4CE, Sarah Colombie from BNP Paribas, Jonathan Chabert, an organic vegetable farmer and Interfel board member, and Laurent Piermont, co-founder of Restore.

Laurent Piermont expressed his strong belief that farmers and foresters are both capable of and willing to meet the objectives of the transition—provided they are compensated for it. He then explained that remuneration for environmental services, separate from payments for food products or timber—such as through biodiversity or carbon credits—could play a decisive role in financing these efforts.

In this regard, Restore is part of the essential toolkit for the ecological transition of territories.
